My name is Robert, I am a Designer based near Nuremberg, Germany.

I'm multidisciplinary and versatile. Since I set foot into the creative industry in around 2002, I touched many branches like illustration, graphic design, 3d sculpting, print, screen- and interaction design, branding, typography and photography. Then is started with product design while co-founding two watch brands in 2010. With friends in Hong Kong, we are still active world-wide. I was visual designer for a tech startup incubator, and worked my way into lighting design by learning how to build lamps.

Poise Adjustable Table Lamp by Dabi Robert The acrobatic appearance of Poise, a table lamp designed by Robert Dabi of unform.studio shifts between static & dynamic and a big or small posture. Depending on the proportion between its' illuminated ring and the arm holding it, an intersecting or tangent line to the circle occurs. When placed on a higher shelf, the ring could overhang the shelf; or by tilting the ring, it could touch a surrounding wall. The intention of this adjustability is to get the owner creatively involved and play with the light source in proportion to other objects surrounding it.

Jupiter Watch by Dabi Robert Inside the Jupiter watch, steel spheres are rolling in hydraulically pressed channels, held in place by magnetic force. The wavelike dial is inset into the convex shaped crystal glass, which prevents the spheres from leaving their paths. A glass dome covering the top watch area transitions into the stainless steel casing seamlessly. With omission of a visible stem, watch hands or markings, there are no elements to distract from the time-telling spheres. Despite the absence of visible watch hands, a conventional quartz movement is being used to drive the planetary time indicator.

Cling Floor Lamp by Dabi Robert Cling is a floor lamp by Robert Dabi. Emerging from the floor plate, the pole seamlessly wraps around a spotless LED ring made of a slim aluminium profile in a diameter of 55 cm. Within the area between pole and the frame holding the light ring, a flexible section is incorporated. This makes it possible to freely move or tilt the ring and thereby adapt the appearance of the lamp to its' surrounding. Robert constructed the lamp with stability in mind – heavy lower steel parts and top aluminium parts sum up to only 2,5 kg of weight.

Lunar Watch by Dabi Robert Lunar is Robert's project for timepiece company ZIIIRO. This watch creates a tie between the design and the nature of the object. If it wasn't a watch that naturally moves sunwise, it wouldn't be possible to read it. The edges of two semi-circles moving in clockwise direction show hours and minutes, they are both leveled at the same height which creates a flat surface. By the interlocking shapes, hands and watch face become one to create a constantly changing graphic.

XS Horizon Wrist Watch by Dabi Robert The XS Horizon watch employs a different approach to show time and was created to introduce a smaller unisex version to the collection. To visualize the present moment and distinguish the past from the future, the watch uses a line moving through time space. The past is depicted with a color shade that gradually fades away as it deviates from the present, while the future is represented by darkness. The aim of the project was to create a range of compact wrist watches suitable for all genders.
